2. • Traditional Folk Dance:
Jhumur is a traditional folk dance performed by the indigenous communities of Assam, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha, primarily by tea garden workers and tribal communities.
• Performed During Festivities:
It is performed during harvest festivals, social gatherings, and religious celebrations, symbolizing joy, unity, and cultural heritage.
• Musical Elements:
The dance is accompanied by Jhumur songs, which narrate stories of love, daily life, and devotion. Instruments like the dhol, flute, and madal add rhythm to the performance.

Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC):
It is a permanent intergovernmental organization of 12 oil exporting developing nations.
Genesis: It was created at the Baghdad Conference in 1960, by Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and
Venezuela. Objective: To co-ordinate and unify petroleum policies among Member Countries, in order to secure fair and stable prices for petroleum producers.

4. Shaktikanta Das Appointed as Principal Secretary II to PM Modi
Why in News?
Former Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor, Shaktikanta Das, has been appointed as Principal Secretary II to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The appointment was announced by the Secretariat of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on Saturday.
Mr. Das, an IAS officer of the 1980 batch (Tamil Nadu cadre), will work alongside the existing Principal Secretary, P.K. Mishra, who continues in his role.
