1. Jhumoir Binandini Dance
It is a traditional folk dance performed by the Adivasi tea tribes of Assam during the harvest season.
It is accompanied by traditional instruments like the Madal, Dhol, Taal and Flute.
The dance is performed to celebrate various occasions, including harvest festivals, weddings, and community gatherings

3. Tuhin Kanta Pandey Appointed as SEBI Chairman
Why in News?
The government appointed Finance and Revenue Secretary Tuhin Kanta Pandey as the new Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
He will replace Madhabi Puri Buch, whose three-year tenure ends on February 28, 2025.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved his appointment for an initial period of three years from the date he assumes charge.
4. IPrime Minister applauds inauguration of Inland Waterways Terminal at Jogighopa, Assam
inland water transport terminal
The terminal is set to transform the connectivity in the region and bolster our trilateral trade with Bhutan and Bangladesh.
The foundation stone for the terminal was laid in February, 2021.
It has been set up at a cost of Rs 82 crore.
It has the potential to boost trade by reducing transportation expenditure and offering an eco-friendly and alternative mode of transport via the Brahmaputra river.
By 2027, this terminal is expected to handle cargo of 1 million tonnes per annum.

10. Ramakrishna Jayanti
Observed on: 04 March 2025
Aim: Annual commemoration of the birth anniversary of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, a renowned spiritual saint of pre- independence India.

Aim: To raise awareness about safety measures that need to be undertaken to prevent accidents and mishaps.

12. Exercise Desert Hunt 2025 was conducted at Air Force Station Jodhpur from 24 to 28 February 2025.
Exercise Desert Hunt 2025:
It is an integrated Tri-Service Special Forces exercise conducted by the Indian Air Force.
❖ The exercise involved elite Para (Special Forces) from the Indian Army, the Marine Commandos from the Indian Navy along with the Garud (Special Forces) from the Indian Air Force, participating together in a simulated combat environment.
Aim: This high-intensity drill was aimed at enhancing interoperability, coordination and synergy among the three Special Forces units to ensure swift and effective response towards emerging security challenges.
13. Vantara, an animal rescue and rehabilitation centre located in Jamnagar, Gujarat, has gained attention for being one of the largest conservation projects in the world.
Developed by Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL), the facility aims to rescue, rehabilitate, and conserve endangered wildlife, including elephants, leopards, and other species.
14. MISHTI (Mangrove Initiative for Shoreline Habitats & Tangible Incomes) scheme
Launched in 2023.
Aims to expand India's mangrove cover and enhance coastal resilience.
Focuses on ecological restoration and livelihood generation for coastal communities.
Launched In: Union Budget 2023-24, with implementation from 2023 to 2028.
Objective: Its aim is to undertake comprehensive projects for the reforestation and afforestation of mangrove ecosystems along the coastal districts of India.
15. International Women's Day
Observed on: 08 March 2025
Aim: to commemorate the cultural, political, and socioeconomic achievements of women.
Theme: "Accelerate Action
16.Ayushman Arogya Mandir(AB-HWCs
❖ It aims to strengthen primary healthcare.
❖ It provides free drugs and diagnostic services.
❖ Launched under, Ayushman Bharat Programme.
Aim: To move away from selective health care to a more comprehensive range of services spanning preventive, promotive, curative, rehabilitative and palliative care for all ages
❖ Services Provided by AB-HWCS
1) Maternal and child health care
2) Services to address communicable and non-communicable diseases
3) Services for elderly and palliative care
4) Free essential medicines and diagnostic services
5) Tele-consultation and health promotion including wellness activities like Yoga.
❖ Target
➤ 1.5 lakh Health and Wellness Centers (HWCs) to be established.
Till now, 1.6 lakh HWCs have been established, which is more than the target.
Funding: 60% funding by center and 40% by states
17. Delhi Cabinet approved the Mahila Samridhi Yojana, a monthly financial assistance scheme providing 2,500 per month to women.
Announcement coincided with International Women's Day and follows BJP's election promise prior to the February 5 Assembly elections.

19. Bangus Valley
It is situated in Kupwara district, Jammu & Kashmir, about 100 km from Srinagar in the Pir Panjal range, close to the Line of Control (LoC).
It consists of 2 valleys:
❖ Boud Bangus (Big Bangus): ~300 sq km, surrounded by Rajwar, Mawar, and Shamasbury ranges.
❖ Lokut Bangus (Small Bangus): A smaller valley northeast of Big Bangus, known for trekking routes.
Its name is derived from Sanskrit words "Van" (forest) and "Gus" (grass), meaning "Forest of Grass."
